On a beautiful October night in Philadelphia, PA, the world was blessed with a gift. Dwight D. Bazemore was created to entertain the world. Born to Dwight Bazemore I and Beverly Pugh, this young man started entertaining at a very young age. He’s been singing since the age of 3. His gifts come natural as he continues to let God direct him.

At a young age, Godly morals and standards were instilled in this rising star. He began singing at Freedom Baptist Church which is now Freedom Christian Bible Fellowship. He is still currently a member under the leadership of Bishop Gilbert Coleman Jr. He comes from an extremely close family that has been his grounding and support group through many issues in his life.

Dwight was with an R&B group formed in Richmond, VA and traveled the east coast performing at many venues including the world famous Apollo Theatre in New York. His life then headed in another direction and Dwight ended up in the United States Marine Corps. There he still worked on his skills as an entertainer opening for such artists as Ashanti and Mr. Cheeks.  “After I got out of the military, I felt like I needed to take a moment to breathe and enjoy life again”.

In 2003, Dwight was introduced to acting and took to it like a fish to water. His very first audition landed him the lead role in the gospel musical stage play “Having Done All to Stand”. Considering it a coincidence, he auditioned for another major role and was privileged to portray Satan in the stage play “Born”. It was then that Dwight realized that he had a gift and decided to take it seriously.

In 2004, Dwight was cast in the Disney film Annapolis starring Tyrese Gibson and James Franco.  That same year he portrayed a serial killer on the nation Court TV show Forensic Files. He has since made appearances in many regional and national ads and movies including one of the number one films in the country “Invincible” starring Mark Walberg.

Determined to keep his craft sharpened, he decided to turn back to stage. “I think that theatre acting is real acting. You can’t yell ‘cut’ when there are thousands of people watching you”. In 2005, Dwight starred in the hit gospel musical stage play “Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder”. That same year, he joined the cast of the critically acclaimed “Silky Silk Soul Singer…The Life Story of Marvin Gaye”.

As a loving and devoted father, Dwight still seems to find time to put everything that he can into making his dreams come true. Keep your eyes on this young man as he captures the world of entertainment and the hearts of everyone that sees him perform.

“My life is built on God, family and chasing my dreams. I’ve had a lot of struggles in my life. I’ve dealt with everything from disappointment to heartbreak. In the midst of it all I still have my joy and I can’t imagine myself in pursuit of anything else. I have adopted the motto ‘Chasing Dreams’ as my own. In Job 33: 14-18, it says, ‘For God may speak in one way or in another, Yet man does not perceive it. In a dream in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, While slumbering on their beds, Then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction...’. My ears have been opened and my instruction has been sealed.Although I realize that I’m not where I want to be with this whole thing, I have so much to be thankful for. I’m going to continue to chase these dreams and ride this bus until the wheels fall off”
